Reproductive Health Officer Full Time
Job Summary :
Ipas is an international non governmental organization working in partnership with the Government of Pakistan for the achievement of the country’s commitment towards Sustainable Development Goal 3. Ipas was setteled in the year 1973. It is a trailblazing global organization which created the manual vacuum aspirator technology for safe uterine evacuation supported by the World Health Organization and adopted by various countries, including Pakistan. In Pakistan, Ipas works towards assisting the government and the partners in the area of reducing maternal morbidity and death caused by unsafe procedures. It works in collaboration with the provincial governments in the areas of technical assistance and the strengthening of the public as well as private healthcare systems.
The Reproductive Health Officer (RH Officer) will be responsible for the quality of the care provided by Ipas in a defined cluster of geographically aligned districts. The cluster may be a number of districts in the province of Sindh, such as Hyderabad, Jamshoro, Dadu, and Thatta. The work includes coordination with the Ipas team in the implementation of quality-of-care activities, support for the assessment of the health facilities, strengthening of healthcare systems, and conducting provider Training of Trainers (ToTs), cascade training, and follow-up after training. The RH Officer will be the contact person at the district level (provincial level, if required) for the purpose of providing assistance to the Ipas projects during the assignment period

Location: Hyderabad, Jamshoro Dadu and Thatta Districts – Sindh
Primary Responsibilities:
1. Coordination
- Collaborate with the Ipas Health System team to develop field activity plans and maintain coordination with District Health Management and District Population Welfare Officers as required for executing field activities in health facilities.
- Coordinate with district management for nominating and releasing participants for training and follow-ups on technical and clinical skills improvement.
- Communicate and coordinate with the Ipas team to organize clinical competency activities promptly through supportive supervision.
- Share work plans and activity calendars with district stakeholders in a timely manner to obtain approvals.
2. Technical Support
- Conduct competency assessments of Ipas-trained providers in project-selected health facilities using standardized clinical checklists provided by Ipas.
- Conduct training needs assessments, baseline surveys of facilities, and healthcare providers as directed by the supervisor.
- Visit health facilities, analyze visit reports, and provide data-driven insights.
- Co-facilitate technical training sessions alongside master trainers when required.
- Support the Ipas team with the distribution of seed supplies to health facilities.
- Develop action plans to address clinical gaps and escalate operational or administrative issues requiring Ipas’s attention.
- Provide virtual support to healthcare providers as needed and maintain detailed records of the support provided.
4. Reporting
- Collect the required data from health facilities and submit it to the Research & Monitoring & Evaluation team on time.
- Ensure timely reporting and documentation of verification means for each activity.
- Prepare monthly reports summarizing key program events.
- Capture success stories and lessons learned from providers and health facilities.
Requirments :
- Lady Doctor, Lady Health Visitor, Midwife, Family Welfare Worker, or Nurse registered with the Pakistan Medical Commission / Pakistan Nursing Council or other government regulatory bodies.
- 3–5 years of clinical experience in reproductive health, especially including familiarity with MVA services, family planning, and maternal and child health.
- Certified training obtained from a reputable institution in family planning and postabortion care including MVA and medical abortion.
- Experience and familiarity with quality improvement processes.
- Training/coaching experience with competency-based training approaches preferred.
- Comfortable with inter-district travel.
Minimally Required Job-Specific and Organizational Competencies
- Communication: Advanced oral and written communication skills.
- Passion for Sexual and Reproductive Health: Commitment to PAC-FP, family planning, reproductive health, gender equity, and maternal and child health services.
- Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights Services: Advanced knowledge of family planning and reproductive health principles, practices, and services.
- Software Applications: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
