Ipas is an international non governmental organization working in partnership with the Government of Pakistan for the achievement of the country’s commitment towards Sustainable Development Goal 3. Ipas was setteled in the year 1973. It is a trailblazing global organization which created the manual vacuum aspirator technology for safe uterine evacuation supported by the World Health Organization and adopted by various countries, including Pakistan. In Pakistan, Ipas works towards assisting the government and the partners in the area of reducing maternal morbidity and death caused by unsafe procedures. It works in collaboration with the provincial governments in the areas of technical assistance and the strengthening of the public as well as private healthcare systems.
The Reproductive Health Officer (RH Officer) will be responsible for the quality of the care provided by Ipas in a defined cluster of geographically aligned districts. The cluster may be a number of districts in the province of Sindh, such as Hyderabad, Jamshoro, Dadu, and Thatta. The work includes coordination with the Ipas team in the implementation of quality-of-care activities, support for the assessment of the health facilities, strengthening of healthcare systems, and conducting provider Training of Trainers (ToTs), cascade training, and follow-up after training. The RH Officer will be the contact person at the district level (provincial level, if required) for the purpose of providing assistance to the Ipas projects during the assignment period
